Mission

The Air Force Dietetics Association (AFDA) is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to supporting and advancing Air Force dietitians and diet technicians.  Our mission is to enhance the success of our members by offering continuing education, networking and social opportunities, updates on legislative and professional issues, and a liaison with our active duty and reserve forces.   Our members are active professionals who are committed to supporting the Air Force Dietetic community, preserving its heritage and creating value for the benefit of the individual and the group as a whole. 

Vision

Goals and objectives for the next 3 years (2018 - 2021), AFDA will:

  • Maximize active duty, reserve, civilian and contract dietitian and diet therapy membership through ongoing outreach efforts.
  • Improve membership support and retention through engagement with current and former members via social media, email and traditional mailings.
  • Conduct a needs assessment to determine how to best develop value-added programs, activities and member benefits.
  • Publish at least an annual newsletter that provides relevant content to all membership subsets: active duty, reserve, civilian, contract, dietitian, diet technician, retiree and affiliated personnel.
  • Create opportunities for active participation of members through specific volunteer duties including board membership, committees, and administrative support.
  • Engage in strategic alliances with other dietetic organizations through mutually beneficial activities and events.
